THE DAY 1 GRANT
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH FERTILITY FRIENDS FOUNDATION.
The Day 1 FALL 2024 application is now Closed.
Here at Day 1, we are excited to share that in partnership with Fertility Friends Foundation, we are introducing the Day 1 Grant, provides recipients the chance to work directly with Emily enabling them to prioritize their mindset, while getting support for treatment. We believe in selecting applicants who are diverse in terms of ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, relationship status, and medical history.
THE DAY 1 GRANT INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
A $5,000 grant (IVF, egg/sperm donation, or gestational surrogacy)
$720 of coaching credit with Emily Getz
All applicants will be reviewed by Fertility Friends Foundation’s medical and financial committees. Everyone applying will receive an equal chance to receive the grant.
The Day 1 Grant Eligibility criteria:
Fertility Friends Foundation funds a range of procedures including, but not limited to, in vitro fertilization, egg and sperm donation, and gestational surrogacy. We do not reimburse for treatments that have already begun or give funding for Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET).
Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and reside in Ontario. Applicants must have a medical diagnosis of infertility certified in writing by a medical provider with the following exceptions:
1. Applicants who are members of the LGBTQ2S+ community
2. Applicants who are single
Applicants must have seen a Reproductive Endocrinologist within the previous 6 months.
All applicants must not have a medical condition that would pose a serious risk to themselves or, in the case of females, the child they would carry (e.g. active acute infections).
All applicants must possess the means to offer continued child support (at least one partner must maintain employment).
Recipients must begin treatment within 6 months after receiving the grant.
Clinical criteria for grant applicants:
Applicants MUST be between 18 and 50 years of age.
Heterosexual couples MUST meet the ASRM definition of infertility
Same sex couples only:
Same sex females: MUST have completed 6 IUI cycles unless other diagnosis of infertility has been made.
fERTILITY FRIENDS FOUNDATION MISSION
Fertility Friends Foundation is a Canadian registered charity that offers grants to cover expenses associated with assisted reproduction such as IVF, egg and sperm donation, and gestational surrogacy.
The Foundation helps individuals and families to make their dream of parenthood come true.
In Canada, 1 out of 6 couples suffer from infertility. The psychological and financial costs of fertility are enormous. Fertility Friends Foundation aims at providing not only financial assistance but also a support system for any approved applicants including access to fertility experts.
In 2022, the Foundation gave 13 grants of $4,000 and then $5,000 each.
